A dark brow arched briefly. "By my kind, are you referring to dragons, or to organic beings in general?" Not that Rex was wrong, of course. Mortals and dragons both were capable of lying. But the thought of promising safety and then going back on his word wasn't something that pleased him. "When I give an oath, I am bound to it. And besides, this isn't my lair. I don't make the rules here. Ask our illustrious host on that one."
Rex made a noise that was likely as close to a scoff as a machine could get when Shin spoke of oaths. "Both, but dragons in particular." He unceremoniously pick up the dwarf and dropped her in a chair. "I see no reason to let her live, and if your 'honor'," The mocking in his voice was so thick the air quotes were almost visible, "won't let you lie, then be silent and I will lie. After we get what we need we can deliver her to the host, he can deal with her as he sees fit."
"As you like." Crossing his arms, Shin leaned himself against the wall to wait out the proceedings. Oh, he could lie if he had to. But only if it meant protecting his sister or one of his Grandfather's secrets. And this little dwarf? Wasn't worth lying to.
Caerrilai came to with a low groan of pain, her eyes fluttering open. They didn't seem to focus properly, hinting at a concussion. "Who.. the hell d'you think you are?" she growled.
Remaining silent, he seemed content to allow the machine to handle this part. Though there was admittedly a part of him that wanted to.. 'encourage' some honesty out of her. Shibien did have a very fine edge, after all. Or even one of his scales.. Trying to resist the urge, he simply watched patiently.
Rex reached into her mouth and force-ably removed a tooth. "Who and where are your co-conspirators? You have upset the host. Now is not the time to withhold information."
A muffled scream left the dwarf as Rex jerked one of her teeth out. Spitting blood, she stared up at him with pure terror. Well, it was everyone for themselves, now. "Howard and Shana. A human and a pixie. They should be in their room in the servant quarters, if they're not out hunting more sirens.."
"Not useful information." Rex stood up, towering over the little dwarf. "Time to turn this one over to the host. I suspect he will not be difficult to find." He lifted her up and looked to Shin. "Unless you have anything you wish to add, I suggest we depart."
"I have nothing to add. We should return, I need to check on my sister." Concern for Amaya ate at him, causing him to shift impatiently. Surely she had to be near her limits after all that had transpired recently. Between shielding him and bearing the brunt of his pain.. A worried frown crossed his face before he turned to walk out the door.
"Agreed. A member of the staff was with her. I suspect she could contact the host." He was not concerned with the siblings. Even if the woman held a grudge, he hadn't harmed her.
"I believe my sister could also summon him, if need be." A dour frown crossed his face. Oh, how he disliked her association with Arako. She should damn well know better at her age.
"Very well." Rex departed the room. It did not take long to return to where Amaya was, and any struggling the dwarf did was met with another knockout blow.
