The sun was bright. In fact it had been shining all morning. Angelica had left the manor early to avoid the watch being sent with her to watch her back. She almost thought...what the harm could be...but stopped short of the thought. She drew the reins up into her chest to get her horse to stop. She had not looked at the sun the same way since Gerard's secret holding became known. The yellow ball hung there like an omen.
Tilling her head to the side she looked at the city of Serenity before her. The hills rolling up and away from the city walls to where she now sat upon her horse. She dismounted with ease. Years of riding and training made her agile and lean. She smiled as her right hand rubbed Her horse's chin. With mutual respect her horse nuzzle it and gave a soft stamp of his foot in the dirt. Angelica smiled and moved to get her sword out of its sheath from the back of her saddle.
