The class was once again in session. Avera listened to everything that the teacher had to say. Adding her own thoughts to what was discuss, though in her head so not to start an argument if that was in fact the case. She read her text and tried to listen to those options about her. She would have to have an open mind if she was to succeed here. That was if she wished to pass her classes and the semesters. The other day they had been to a duel, which she thought was outstanding. Sure she had seen fighting; her brothers were good fighters, but duelist here. They were a cut above all. That would be a secret she would keep from her brothers.
Shaking her head. ~Enough about duelist, class is in session~ She scolded herself. Her left hand rose to press her thumb against her temple. She had, had an amazing day yesterday it was hard to forget. Perhaps if class was done early she would go over and see if anyone else was….
~Avera, damn it~ she scolded herself again. Forcing her eyes to the front and studying the teacher. She would keep her thoughts focused. It was then that she found herself staring at the back of Kione’s head. Her elbow came to rest upon the desktop, and her chin settled up her hand. She could not help but look at him. A dreamy look came to her face, and she was lost in her thoughts yet again.

Kione turns his chair so that his back is to the wall. From that angle he can still see the teacher, but the rest of the class as well. His emerald eyes trail over them all. More than half of them could be the assassin he’s there to protect Paris from. Odds are against Menora or Rhian being assassins after Paris, but Kione knows not to rule them out completely just because they’re related. The Shikara family has gotten dangerous toward each other in the past and family feuds are never pretty. His eyes fall upon Avera however when he notices the way she’s looking at him. “Is she cursed,” he quietly inquires from his desk mate.
Marialy snaps from her attention she was giving the teacher to look over at Kione, “hmm?” She looks back over her shoulder toward Avera and then lets out a giggle as she turns back to look at Kione and gives a little shake of her head. Her eyes fall back onto their teacher. She says nothing.
Tristal notices the two in front of them looking back at their desk and gives Avera a little elbow in her side to get her attention.

Tristal’s elbow struck her elbow clearly off the table, which ended up knocking one of her, many books to the floor with a thud. Which then caused her to lose her balance a little, that she fell against Tristal.
~Awwwe~ She looked at up at him, from her rather odd angle. Her eyes narrowed as she rubbed her elbow. In a hushed tone she spoke to Tristal. “What was that for?” She had not realized that she had in fact been staring at Kione. She looked quickly to the front of the class, hoping that the teacher did not catch her little disruption.

Tristal had not meant to jab Avera so hard, but to merely catch her attention. Instead it got turned into a little scene and others are starting to notice. He can feel the eyes on them, and looks up to see Kione is still watching them. “Sit up, girl. You’re embarrassing me.” He hisses, keeping his voice low so not everyone can hear him.

Avera quickly righted herself. Hearing Tristal’s words she could not help but go red. She had not done anything on purpose; least of all try to embarrass anyone. She was certain that Tristal was far from being embarrassed, as all eyes seemed to be on her. She cleared her throat and straightened her form. She raised her hand to her brow and flicked a few strands from her face. She did not dare say anything, though sorry and excuse me were sitting right there waiting. Her gaze drifted from the others in the room who were staring at her. Seeing Kione looking at her as well caused her heart to flutter and her palms to sweat, she was sure she was even more red now then before.

The teacher sighs and tells the class they are dismissed for the day. He of course waits until the warlord is not in sight so that Avrio will think the class was just over anyway. So everyone will gather their things and head out the door where Avrio is having his private conversation with Aurelius. Kione doesn’t think they should interrupt and he knows a few of them would stop to stare. He instead decides to distract the others. “So, Rhian. When’s your next duel?”
“Oh great trees! Wasn’t that duel between Mace Gerrick and Riley Dupree yesterday a thrill?” Marialy stands and turns to face the rest of the room while hopping up on her desk to sit upon it. Rineth starts to immediately react some of her favorite parts from both sides of the duel.

Ileemi had not stood yet, but was closing and stacking his books to get ready to do so. He was taking his time so he could walk out along side Paris so he was purposely matching his pace to Paris to time it just right while still looking causal. With the extensive training he’s received for his job such timing is not a problem for him. He smiles when he hears Kione speak and knows exactly what the griffon rider is up to. He thinks it’s rather clever.
Rineth sees him smile and stops in her reenactment to point at Ileemi. “He smiles, see he enjoyed the duel too.” She of course is referring to the fuss Ileemi made about not wanting to go to the duel, but to study instead.
“Yeah, who knew the old man still had it in him?” Ileemi responds, deciding not to reveal why he’s really smiling.
“Uh,” Marialy clears her throat and then when Ileemi looks at her she points in turn to those in the room related to Riley Dupree.
Ileemi looks at the others and then decides to amend his statement, while looking flustered and worried. He secretly enjoys the oversight on his words because it helps establish his cover a little more as someone that isn’t as deadly as he really is. “Oh, I mean. Of course he won, he’s a Dupree.”

Her eyes rest upon the back of Kione’s head again. A dreamy look takes over again. She is distracted to the point she didn’t hear that the class was dismissed. When Tristal had bumped against her, waking her up. She felt the blush seep into her cheeks as she quickly stood and gathered her books.
Rhian was talking about the duel from the other day. She would have paused to add her thoughts upon it, but Kione was now engaged in it. She would move herself through them hoping to get out scott free.

Kione was about to tell Avera she was creeping him out, but she stood and gathered her books. She seems to be in a big hurry to leave them all and he wonders if that is because she doesn’t like them, if she’s just too embarrassed, of if she’s really the assassin and keeps staring at him trying to figure out how to get him out of the way. He makes a mental note to keep an eye on her. He turns from everyone else and walks over to the bookshelf in the front of the room as if looking for a book suddenly, but instead he lifts his collar and speaks into a little orb pinned there. “Girl with long red braid. About to come out, follow her?” There is a clicking sound from the other side of the orb, so light that again probably only he elves hear it. It’s Lysander’s affirmative response. While they’re in class, the griffon remains perched where he can come to aide very quickly if needed. Kione would then turn back around and rejoin the group with a smile, jumping right into the conversation about Riley’s duel.

Ileemi notices the way Avera gets up to leave and the way Kione moves away and speaks into his collar. He knows what’s going on. He wonders if the griffon is going to jump her and thinks that might be amusing if it wasn’t Avera. It’d probably just be sad to see her jumped by a big scary griffon. She doesn’t exactly deserve it. His attention is brought back to the group and away from his job when someone speaks his name.
“Ileemi. You’re a Ravrinav. Why don’t you duel?” It’s Rineth who asks. And it’s understandable why the question would be asked. Ileemi has family on the Order of Veneficus and he’s smart enough to be in this class.
Because I don’t want to show you my true skill. He shrugs, “I don’t think I’d be very good at it.”

Avera gets into the hallways. Managing to get through the others. Sure she should have excused herself, this way she looks like she did not like them at all or something to that degree. Once in the hall, she presses her back up against the wall.
“That was brilliant.”~ She said as she tapped the back of her head against the wall before she turned and head down the hall. Perhaps she would take this early dismissal and go to the library. “Yes that sounds good. No Kione there.” she had whispered that last bit to herself, then quickly scolded herself as she went along.
Avera had saved herself from embarrassment. That was just for this time, the next class she would have to think of a way to avoid staring at Kione. Perhaps if she thought about tactics, or perhaps strategies, perhaps the newest weapons. That always worked wonders before. Not that she was trying to avoid embarrassing herself any other time before. She had brothers, four in fact.
Her brothers liked to embarrass her other sisters, the odd time her, but nothing like what she was able to do to herself. The library was the safest place, that or the dueling arena. Perhaps that was the best place to go. She would not run into Kione there, she hoped at least.
Curling her books to her chest she made her way to her room to gather what books she had need of. Then she would make her way to the arena.
